Lopez Charlotte, an uneducated young woman who's had to live by her wits meets Matt, a Harvard law school graduate now the sheriff in the town where Charlie found her. She comes wanting to change her life and find what's left of her family; he comes to find the man who murdered his brother. They both find way more than they expect. There were a few errors, typos, but not enough to drop a star. Rather I want to read more, including more about the supporting characters in the novel. I hope she writes their stories soon. This book is also available as part of a bundle of six titled A Chance a For Love. That's how I found and read it. I highly recommend this story and the bundle as well (I've read several of the authors' works and love them).

The writing was difficult to follow because there was little or no background to the characters until you get well into the story and then things come out here and there. Characters are introduced and then you have to wait and find out who they are.Find an editor or have someone proofread it at least! There were way too many missing words, spelling errors and even Matt's name was misspelled. It's an insult to the reader. There's a good deal of preaching and scripture in the second half of the story.I found the whole story to be unrealistic and unbelievable.

Charlie had to work through her insecurities and find answers about her past before she could move forward, and I liked going along with her on her journey. The thing that kept me from enjoying this story more and giving it a higher rating was that there were a lot of editing errors that distracted from the story. It may have been because I read it in a collection. It was a really good story, though, and I would definitely recommend it.I was gifted a copy of this collection in exchange for my honest opinion.
