About the Author Dr. Werner W.K. Hoeger Professor Emeritus in the Department of Kinesiology at Boise State University, and fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and the Research Consortium of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. The 2004 recipient of the Presidential Award for Research and Scholarship in the College of Education at Boise State University, Dr. Hoeger continues to research and lecture on exercise physiology, physical fitness, and wellness. In addition to PRINCIPLES AND LABS FOR PHYSICAL FITNESS, Dr. Hoeger has published several Cengage Learning texts, including Fitness and Wellness, Principles and Labs for Fitness and Wellness, Lifetime Physical Fitness and Wellness, Wellness: Guidelines for a Healthy Lifestyle, and Water Aerobics for Fitness and Wellness (with Terry-Ann Spitzer Gibson). Dr. Hoeger is a former luge runner and Winter Olympian, and renowned fitness and wellness innovator. He developed many popular fitness assessment tools in use today, such as the modified sit and reach, total body rotation, shoulder rotation, muscular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, and soda pop coordination tests.Sharon A. I see many advantages to using the ebook versus a paperback book. I am currently reading this text for an online class (Health Promotion Wellness). There are labs at the back of each chapter which we use for our homework and so far it seems well created.

About the Author Dr. Maestro is a board certified family physician, currently practicing in a federally supported community rural health center in upper Michigan. He has had over twenty-six years of direct patient care experience and also fourteen years' experience with administrative medicine, working for a number of healthcare insurers. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a B.S. Degree in Biology and attended the Newark Medical School at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey, where he was the chief editor of his graduating class' yearbook. He received his MBA in Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix. He has taught several courses for the University of Phoenix's Colleges of Nursing and Medical Management in Michigan. He has been an honorary clinical assistant professor of medicine. His fascination with EHRs extends back to 1989 when he computerized his own medical office.

About the Author The Most Rev. Philip Joseph Furlong was born in 1892 at New York City. He attended Cathedral College and St. Joseph???s Seminary prior to receiving Holy Orders on the eighteenth of May, 1918. He later received his doctorate in philosophy from Fordham University, and went on to become Professor of History at Cathedral College. Father Furlong served as an auxiliary bishop from 1956-1971, and published his textbook The Old World and America in 1937 through William H. Sadlier Inc., New York. He retired from the Vicariate at the age of seventy-one and died on the thirteenth of April, 1989.

E.g., my very well-educated daughter-in-law, who grew up in the mid-West, did not know that many of the towns, counties, streets she knew the names of were named for men who were merely described as 'explorers' but who were actually priests. Why is this book needed, not just for homeschoolers (my duaghter-in-law was not) but especially for public and even Catholic school children? Because the religious heritage of this country is repressed in many books.

EZ books By Monika In order to get a real GMAT prep - I would recommend you use the EZ Solutions series of 10 books, or whichever book(s) you think you need most help with. These books are very detailed oriented and cover everything on the GMAT math. First use the review modules to get the concepts and then use the workbooks for practice. Some of the most challenging math topics, such as basic arithmetic and number properties, algebraic concepts, complex word problems, logical reasoning problems, etc., are brilliantly explained in these books. Just because of the high price of the book, you can skip the math strategies book. However, the EZ basic workbook is a good refresher to get started and advanced workbook is a "must have" if you are aiming for a high score.After doing all this, use the OG and you will see a dramatic difference in your scores. You don't even have to take any of those pricy courses. I followed this process and my scores have jumped from the 500-range to the 700-range. Good luck in your prep.

We lead busy lives, so actually, it's easy to avoid a topic that causes such angst. Until. Until you lose someone you dearly loved -- quite possibly the closest person to you in the whole world. It happened to me 5 years ago. It will happen to all of us. There's no escaping it. And suddenly, the topic of death is no longer avoided -- it's center stage in your life. At that point, you want to learn all you can about death and what comes next. "Death in Classical Music" is a unique book. As a fan of classical music, I found all the arcane references to death in some famous (and no so famous) works quite interesting, for example, the appearance of ‘Friend Henry’ in Mahler’s Fourth. I found the essays by the Harvard and Cal State professors on Wagner and Schopenhauer and their views on death to be most illuminating. I didn’t know that Wagner was so obsessed with death and that his operas were, in large part, an outlet for his fixation on it. And there is so much more. There are perspectives on death delivered in ironic, humorous, serious, and poignant text, quotes, and explanations. Expect your own thinking about this difficult subject to be broader after you finish the book. You will be grateful the author tackled the subject of death. Not sure if you're ready to "go there" yet? Get the book anyway. You will be ready at some point. We all are eventually. Simply put, this book allows us to approach a difficult subject in a unique way. Thank you Mr. Sarkett (author).

It explores how the subject of death is approached in the works of the masters. Definitely full of meticulously researched information and an approach and tone that casts a warmer light on this subject than one might expect. Not a gloomy book. I would say “thoughtful” is the word. There are the great composers here who we all know, like Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Verdi, Mozart et al, and discussions of their works, but also a large number of names that I had never or barely heard of (Chadwick, MacDowell, Finzi, Hartmann, Griffes, Alkan, tons more) -- and that made it challenging and interesting on virtually ever page turn. I think that fellow lovers of classical music will appreciate this one as I did, and be surprised how much of classical treats mortality, but I’m thinking also this would make a good read for anyone (who is even a little artistic) who’s mind has been turned to the subject by the loss of someone close, and eventually, that’s pretty much everyone. I think “Death in Classical Music” will resonate with many. In fact, I know it. A friend saw this on my table and asked to read it when I’m done.

An Important Idea about Music and Death By Pegstur Having just published my book "Psychosocial Interventions to Improve End of Life Care: The Hope for a Good Death", I can only say how perfectly this wonderful book about Death in Classical Music expands upon the concepts of death and its attendant psychosocial interventions. We all need to make friends with the unfriendly, coming to terms with our mortality and the author shows us just how many gifted musicians smoothed the way to through concept.
