All markers and some Gel pens will leak through this paper; I place a piece of paper under the page I am coloring to prevent damaging the next page.3. This book has beautiful pictures with lovely verses that just make you want to bring them to life with color. I like too that the picture is only on one side of the page all the way through to the book so you don't have to worry about color coming through to another picture. Would definitely recommend it.

Our perception of the original North American Indians, natives or indigenous people of North America, is usually based on the first pictures of them taken between 1850 and the First World War. Our first description of these people was written by those who were exploring for future country’s developments into these wilds and not by the fur trappers, hunters and adventures who came first. Lewis and Clarke described what and who they saw and drew pictures of both flora and fauna, but they did not take pictures. It was the later black and white pictures that we would remember the most. It is from these first pictures that has formed our sense of curiosity and knowledge of how they dressed, their weapons and their customs. But they had already been touched by those first fur trappers and explores who changed the Indians way of life from their first day of contact. Some already had rifles, gun powder, flint and balls, English knives, Boston shirts, European beads when the first documentarians arrived to describe them. In The last BOOK OF CHIMACUM the author had drawn from the writing of the first explorers to put together a written account of those people, and, especially the natives of the Olympic Peninsula, the last of the untouched tribes of America, and what happened to one of those tribes that disappeared. All of the Native North American Indians have now been identified and documented. Then I discovered the Chimacum Indians of the Olympic Peninsula on Washington State’s northwest coast no longer exist, either in a reservation setting or linage. With this book I decided to do something about that and learn why they no longer exist.

Brant This book is packed with useful tips on how to re-purpose items you might be tempted to throw away. I can't tell you how much of this stuff I have thrown away in the past and with Kitty's help, I now realize that trash was actually treasures. The key is just having someone show you how you can use this stuff in a unique way. We all need to sparkle up our places and why not use all of the stuff that is cluttering up our houses to do it. The best part is that the instructions are easy to follow and the supplies necessary don't cost much in fact they are free!

If you like to be challenged a little By Matthew Souders I have a phrase that perfectly describes my experience reading this book - it was delightfully insane. I mean delightfully in its most literal sense...reading this story was enormously rewarding. Fred is a wordsmith of approximately the caliber of Poe or Bradbury, and his gift for creative, rich description makes his work immersive. And let's emphasize creativity again - not only is the writing itself creative, the setting, characters, and political commentary are legitimately unique. This is something totally new, totally strange, and totally remarkable.If you like to be challenged a little, to be kept guessing, to get lost in an immersive, rich landscape - if you like stories that are "cracktacular" (as in, so unorthodox that you'll feel like you're tripping from time to time) and full of humor - this is your story.If you feel that American politics are for the madmen and the twisted...this is your story.If any of that applies to you...BUY THIS BOOK! You won't regret it.

Volkman The Devil's Dictum takes the archaic and arcane political institutions of America and shows them in a dark mirror to reveal the deep flaws in our most revered institutions. Nothing and nobody is immune from pillory: the Supreme Court, Congress, the President, the Electoral College, and much more are shown in the context of their absurd rules stretched to the level of self-parody. And yes, it is sprinkled with a cast of politicos from Hitler to Nixon.

By Duke of Earle This will be a difficult review to write, because the book does not fit into a standard genre and its hook is mainly in its cleverness. The author has created an alternate version of the United States that is part Stephen King horror, part Mark Twain parody, and part Neal Stephenson ramble of seemingly unrelated characters and events until all are pulled together. His writing is filled with subtle and sometimes outrageous humor, characters who are real historical figures but skewed into recognizable but horribly twisted mockeries of who they really were, and a plot line that kept me wondering what the story could possibly hold in the next chapter to top the last one.Why do I like it so much? I suppose because it displays a "devilishly" detailed knowledge of the U.S. history we all learned in school and a lot more I never really learned but learned ABOUT. That, and the fact that is is just "different" from almost anything I've read (and I read a LOT!) I would not call this book a "gripping page turner filled with action and violence," although there is action and violence in there. It is certainly not a sensitive, gentle romance. Not really a tale of dysfunctional society and government (although that's in there too). I don't know WHAT it is, but its humor and uniqueness have stayed with me for weeks after reading it. To me, that alone makes a book worth 4-5 stars. Combine that with this author's skill in presentation and simply his skill with words (including parodies of poetry and songs), and, well...Just Wow. Give it a try. I'm looking forward to whatever this author creates next.

About the Author Rafael Ruppin was born in 1919 in Berlin to Dr. Arthur Ruppin and Hanna Cohen of the family of Mordechai Ben Hillel HaCohen. Mr. Ruppin’s father was appointed to lead the Palestine Office of the Zionist Organization with the objective to facilitate the establishment of the Jewish homeland in Palestine (Israel). Several of his forebears were delegates to the first Zionist Congress in Basle. Mr. Ruppin was educated in Jerusalem at the Gymnasia Ha’Ivrit Rehavia, and studied biology at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, prior to studying economics in London. During the Second World War, Mr. Ruppin enlisted in the British Army and served in the Jewish Fighting Brigade. After the war, he joined a cooperative maritime settlement group, and learned fishing and seamanship in Italy and Holland. Upon demobilization from the British Army, he settled with his friends on the shore of Emek Hefer near Netanya in Israel and became one of the founders of the Michmoret community. In 1950, Mr. Ruppin established the School of Fisheries at Michmoret, and was appointed its first principal. In 1955, he was awarded a grant from the UN Food and Agriculture Organization to report on fisheries education in Europe. Ruppin was later appointed to be a consultant on fisheries education to this organization. In the context of his work as an adviser and expert, he worked in India, East Africa and Central Africa. He was also sent on various missions by the Israeli Government to Ethiopia, South America and Tanzania, where he became Israel’s first ambassador. At the end of his tenure in Tanzania, Mr. Ruppin was appointed director of the Marine Education Department in the Ministry of Education and Culture, and as Coordinator of Hebrew Education in the Diaspora in this ministry. In 1975, Mr. Ruppin was appointed to the UN Organization of Food and Agriculture to be in charge of educating and training fishermen worldwide. Since 1982, Mr. Ruppin has served as an adviser on maritime agriculture to the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. Now in retirement from public service, Mr. Ruppin spends much of his time writing books and political commentary. He lives in Michmoret, Israel.
