By apple_blossom First off, this is more than one book; the first bit is about writing erotica, it concludes, and then there's a second book about general writery things. The bonus would be really nice if more of the content was useful.The most useful content is super basic info, like using ACX to create audiobooks, using social media (which, for most erotica authors is a huge waste of time), creating a mailing list, publishing on Smashwords and Nook, etc (iffy advice imo), plot generators, and using Amazon Price Match to keep books free.The not at all useful parts: The authors mention using UIdemy and Clickbank in the Erotica publishing book. No. Just no. They say "Don't write when you aren't in the mood." Also full of nope. They talk a fair bit about OCPD (Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder) being a source of writer's block (if anything, it's the opposite). They advise that if you need to stop procrastinating, you should find some books about not procrastinating (y'know, as opposed to just writing anyway...). They advise joining a church group and having beliefs that are "bigger than yourself."The authors offer free manuscript critiquing, and I shudder at the thought. They made some serious grammatical errors in this publication, and seem to have issues with basic word usage. "Without their spouses or family being none the wiser," "you it to your advantage," and "enthralled in a good book." If you don't know why those phrases are screwed up, put down your computer and go get an English textbook and for the love of all the gods of the multiverse, please don't release a book.If you want a useful book or two on self-publishing erotica and e-rom, check out How to Self-Publish Erotica and Quit Your Job by Alexandra Banning, How to Make Money Self-Publishing Erotica by Amelia Fox, or my favorites: The Publishing Erotica series by Amy Cooper.

As a beginning writer of erotica, it was helpful to know that erotic fiction can be combined with genres like science fiction to create a story with depth that may appeal both to readers of erotica and readers of sci-fi. It was also inspiring to hear that some erotica authors are earning a ton of money with their writing. However, the author does make it clear that big numbers are possible only with hard work and dedication.There are no empty promises or get rich quick schemes here, just practical, sensible and helpful advice for aspiring authors who are looking to add a little more excitement to their writing output. I have read many eBooks on writing romance and erotica. This is one of the few that I felt was honest and insightful. Information about the adult filter dungeon and writing an alluring description was appreciated, too.
