In a world where supernaturals hide their existence from mortals, sexy alpha warriors and their feisty heroines face otherworldly challenges in the first four books of this bestselling paranormal romance series. Immortal warriors, witches, gods, and reincarnates all fight for love--and sometimes their lives--in this adventurous series set in Scotland. Braving Fate Diana, a reincarnated warrior queen, and Cadan, an immortal warrior, team up to defeat an ancient evil from her past life. Thrown together in a shadowy world that exists alongside our own, Diana must learn to fight the demonic forces that want her dead. When Diana attempts to seduce Cadan for information about her past, he aches to claim her. But he’s sworn to protect her from everything…even himself. His greatest battle will be resisting a passion that has lasted centuries... and is prophesied to destroy them both. Soulceress Warren, an immortal warrior desperate to save his soul, and Esha, a witch forced to live as a renegade, must team up to fight a deadly battle with origins darker than they’d ever expected. Warren will have to rely on the woman he wishes he didn’t want—one whom he can’t resist. But Esha isn’t going to settle for so little this time around. She’s going to make him work for it. Rogue Soul Andrasta, Celtic goddess of victory, has fled the cold, sterile wasteland of Otherworld. It's only a matter of time before the vengeful gods catch and punish her - unless she can convince the man she betrayed two thousand years ago to help. Camulos, a rogue god, leaves a life of bare-knuckling fighting in the jungle to help her, but only because he has his own goal… getting Ana back. Stolen Fate Ian MacKenzie has spent nearly a century in Mythean prison for stealing priceless artifacts. His existence is hellish - until a beautiful woman walks into his cell and offers him a reprieve. Fiona Blackwood must find the Book of Worlds, or she is fated to descend into insanity. Only Ian holds the key to the book's location - a man she cannot trust… not with her quest, and certainly not with her heart. Warning: Explicit love scenes and adult language ahead! Turn back now if these aren't your style.

The characters, the world-building, the story line. I can't get enough!Braving Fate (Book One)I connected with Diana immediately, but the interest for me really kicked in when she realized she was on the paranormal radar, with some not-so-nice creatures set on getting their hands on her. The romance that took off with alpha-male Cadan was fantastic. His flaws were actually some of that I loved about him, though his feelings for Diana do help balance him out overtime, and that makes for a better relationship for them in the long run.Soulceress (Book Two)As much as I loved Diana and Cadan in book 1, my love for Warren and Esha surpassed that. This is one of those "I hate you" romances, which is often one of my favorite types...maybe because that's exactly how my husband and me started off lol. This kind of "bad" chemistry, however, makes for some amazing and clever dialogue, and it was really a lot of fun to read. Eventually their chemistry takes a turn for the hot, though they aren't in a rush to admit it. That said, I've seen this romance style a few times before, and what really set THIS book apart was the plot and the action. I love me some paranormal :)Rogue Soul (Book Three)Of the three full-length books (the 4th is a novella) this was my FAVORITE. I wish I could give it 6 stars, because 5 is not enough! The plight between Ana and Cam was so brilliant. I've seen similar in a few stories before-the whole "I love you buy I have to kill you" conflict comes up-but that just speaks to Hall's talent that she was able to pull it off in her own unique way. I personally enjoyed that this story focused more on characters and plot than action, and I wouldn't call it slow paced, but it is a different kind of read than the action packed book one and book two. I preferred that, though, and of all the books in the series, this was the one I had the hardest time putting down. I definitely had to tell kids/husband/life to hold n just a moment quite a few times while reading.Stolen Fate (Book Four)This was a quick fun read and more like bonus content for people like me who just can't get enough. That said, it was so well done that I did feel it was deserving of being a full-length novel. Would have loved more of this one.Overall, when compared to other similar series in the genre, this one stands out. I had tried to read a similar series once by Elizabeth Hunter and it was just painful, slow, and boring. I couldn't get through it, but the IDEA of it had had me intrigui\ed. I feel this this series would appeal to those fans, but also to those who need something more exiting than that series had to offer. This is the clear winner in my book!

Meeks WARNING! : This is a very long review because I posted all 4 of my reviews into here so you would get a full review for each book. I also feel required to point out that book #4 is almost a novella in length at about 130 pages. I have read all 4 of these books and overall the series gets 5 Stars from me, as with any series, some are better than others but all are great reading:Braving Fate (Book #1)This book was a surprise for me, I really thought it was going to be some mediocre effort that I was given a copy to review. I am very glad to report I was very wrong (and as soon as I write this review I am grabbing book #2 of this series if I can find an ARC)Diana is a professor whose only real concern other than some bad dreams she has had almost all her life, is just to get tenure at the college where she is employed. Her life is about to take some major turns into the paranormal and she is being pursued bu some kind of monsters. Yea, life just got really interesting and really dangerous, let us not forget hoping she is sane.Cadan is your run of the mill male hunk who takes alpha male to a new level and it is not pretty, he would never think so but he is almost to the point of thinking of women as a possession, a very cherished possession but he needs some help in the "me Tarzan you Jane" department. The crux of the problem is that he is crazy about Diana and she might feel the same if he could get his head removed from his posterior.Diana is the sort of reincarnation of an ancient female warrior and that was also Cadan's lost love he thinks so he is trying to keep Diana from her destiny to protect her. The boy don't really think things through a lot but he has a good heart so it is a really good romance that has to be worked at before anything can happen.Bottom Line: This was a great mix of action and romance. I probably would have given it 5 stars but the last 2-3 chapters were kinda cheesy and did not match up to the rest of the book in quality IMHO. It was still a great ending but at least a couple of times I was like "did he/she really just do/say that?". make no mistake though, I WILL be getting the next book to see what happens to one of the other characters we are introduced to, this was done very well also and I give it 4.3 Stars and rounded it down just because the last couple of chapters disappointed me in quality but loved the plot and the ending.Soulceress (Book #2)Well let me see, I read book 1 Braving Fate (The Mythean Arcana Series Book 1) and loved it, this book had the same setting but was so totally unlike the first book I was impressed since most second books in series just play off the first book heavily, this one just lightly touches on it.Warren and Esha are not not exactly a couple of lost souls looking for each other. Their is more like a fencing match and they seem to always say something cutting or insulting when they get together. It takes some work .... well a LOT of work to get these two thinking of the other one as anything but a colossal pain in the butt. When they end up in some life threatening situations their attraction becomes evident even though they still work hard at denying it, add in some really stupid male foot-in-mouth moments and some real self worth issues with Esha and it still come together as a great story.Add in some really great action and a decent plot to go along with a train wreck romance and you have a great story.I HATE any plot that uses a "I have a secret but I can't tell you" and this one does it lightly but still I dislike it, I think it has been so overused by authors that they think real people keep those kinds of secrets all the time.Bottom Line: Great plot, great setting and characters that you find interesting. I totally love new worlds and intriguing situations that in addition to everything else leave you trying to guess who will be the next couple in this PNR/UF combo series. Highly recommended and now I need to find out about book #3Rogue Soul (Book #3)Ana had been made a goddess by blackmail and trickery, the god/man who did it to/for her is Cam. This is another love/hate relationship but it actually has a reason other than just angst for the plot (thankfully).Ana has been missing her human life for over 2000 years and Cam was supposed to be dead, somehow that did not work out as planned but it did trap Ana in the Otherworld for the vast majority of the last 2000 years and she is ready to get out. Cam on the other hand has been living a hidden life until now, Ana has found him and life is about to get VERY complicated since she wants out of the goddess business but the only way they know how to make it happen is to let him kill her, not a great starting point for a romance but then again she did kinda kill him first (yea, complicated is an understatement).Add to this mix the fact that all the other Celtic gods believe that Ana has to be in the Otherworld and are looking hard to find her (they would be looking for Cam but they don't know he is alive, also about to change). This novel has a ton of ups and downs and what look to be dead ends that somehow work out, the two main characters were great as a pair and worked well as a urban fantasy couple or romantically. Who would not love the girl that put an arrow in your chest and has come to see if you will return the favor, talk about a match made in ....... someplace very warm.Bottom line: This novel seemed to get off to a slower start than the previous novels but it did get to moving and once it did it evolved into a "can't put it down" story. You kept thinking well this is getting close to the end but there would be some twist that would complicate things in ways you did not see coming. All in all a great story, characters good and bad, one that we are left with as a bit mysterious. All great fun and I have to give it 4.5 Stars rounded to 5Stolen Fate (Book #4)I think the first thing that should be said just for honesty is this is a very short novel or a long novella at about 130 pages. Now with that out of the way I can say with that length it was action almost all the way if they were not doing something adventurous or dangerous they were thinking about each other after a short period of not trusting each other since she does have to get him out of prison to get his help. The short of all this is she needs him to get back a book which was her fate to find but which she had failed at years ago and now is not just an obsession but since it is tied to her powers it may drive her insane (really insane not a saying) if she cannot complete her Fate (hence the name since the book was stolen years ago)This was a great story, great characters and an ending that makes me wonder if we have not seen the end of the story of these two characters.Bottom Line: Fast read, great story, lot of action and surprisingly believable romance in such a short novel. Highly recommended and 5 Stars for getting such a great story into so few pages without feeling cheated.

I've always been fascinated by the story of Boudica. Braving Fate started out great - lots of action and intrigue. Both Diana and Cadan were well thought out characters and I was really rooting for them. I even liked the side characters, especially the cat. But pretty soon, there was just too much sex. The author did such a good job with the history and plot, I don't see why she needed to add all that in. I also didn't like how the accents were portrayed. I made myself finish the book because I can't put a story down, and I'll admit that the end was pretty good and I enjoyed the overall story, but I just don't know if I'll finish the rest in the series if they have so much sex in them too.
