By Sarah The Unstoppable Writing Teacher by Colleen Cruz was a great professional development text for bolstering my writing workshop teaching. Colleen's style of writing is entertaining, and packed with lots of tips to help solve common issues that occur in the writing workshop classroom: what to do when students aren't writing much, seem to only write about superficial topics, have significant learning challenges, etc. I took away many ideas for how to address these problems in my own elementary classroom. I highly recommend this to teachers new to workshop teaching, or veterans who need a bit of a pep talk to overcome some of the predictable challenges.

WHY are more teachers NOT reviewing this excellent resource? This book has tons of helpful suggestions that you can put to use in your classroom- TOMORROW!AND, it is written in a friendly and entertaining voice- very warm and inviting. As a literacy coach I bought three copies as Back-To-School gifts for some of my newer teachers.A much better gift than a gift card for coffee-- although I DO love my coffee,This is not an oversized coffee table book of strategies, it is right sized and easy to tote around for quick reference. This was one of my first purchases for summer reading and read it cover to cover in a few days, which ids precisely why I purchased it as gifts for newbie teachers. Colleen has managed to successfully create an excellent teaching tool for teachers that is a quick read and very helpful.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Don't miss it By Barb Educators - take note! Here's someone who sees your world and doesn't skip over the hard parts of teaching. Colleen's book is brave, truthful and practical. It's all done with humor and opens up possibilities about facing and overcoming obstacles. It is well organized ( a must for me). Each chapter offers analysis of a common 'dilemma' that teachers of writing face, and gives pathways for action. It provides a brilliant way to look at your teaching. As an educator and literacy coach, I say "Bravo".

How can schools teach the skills required for a strong democracy to flourish? What Kind of Citizen? asks readers to imagine the kind of society they would like to live in-and then shows the ways in which schools can be used to make that vision a reality. Westheimer draws on groundbreaking research on school programs and policies to sharply critique the current direction of school reform. He points to the many varied and powerful ways to teach children and young adults to engage critically, to think about social issues, and to participate in authentic debate that acknowledges that intelligent adults can have different opinions. But today's teachers are being forced to abandon these practices in favor of test-preparation in only a very narrow set of academic subjects. How did this happen? What can we do to set schools back on the right track? How can we realign school goals with what research shows parents, children, and teachers actually care about? How can we save our schools from today's myopic interpretation of what constitutes an education? Westheimer answers these questions and makes a powerful call for schools to become more engaging, more democratic, and more educative.

What Kind of Citizen? Educating Our Children for the Common Good, by Joel Westheimer

Review "Joel Westheimer has written a necessary and brilliant book. Not only does he dismantle the pedagogy of testing, instrumental rationality, and repression at work in the public schools, he reclaims and extends the important goal of defining schools as democratic public spheres, students as engaged citizens, and social responsibility as central to the project of education." Henry Giroux, Global Television Network Chair in Communication Studies, McMaster Univeristy"Joel Westheimer has for many years challenged teachers, students, and community members with a profound series of questions: Who are we? Where do we come from? What kind of society should we create? Who do we want to become? Here he synthesizes his ideas about participatory democracy, moral commitment, education, and justice; deepens his astonishing contribution; and extends his reach in a style that s dazzling and clear, entirely accessible, and grounded in real experiences. With What Kind of Citizen?, Westheimer distinguishes himself as a leading thinker and activist in the radical tradition of W.E.B. DuBois, John Dewey, bell hooks, and Fanny Coppin." William Ayers , school reform activist and author of Teaching the Taboo: Courage and Imagination in the Classroom, Second Edition"Providing practicing educators with a goldmine of information and examples This book indicates, once again, that Westheimer is one of the most prolific, original, and visionary scholars doing citizenship education work and research." James A. Banks, Kerry and Linda Killinger Endowed Chair in Diversity Studies and Director, Center for Multicultural Education, University of Washington"Joel Westheimer argues persuasively that the current emphasis on standardization in the schools not only diminishes teacher professionalism, but conflicts with citizenship education. Students these days learn to answer questions, but citizens learn to ask them." Diane Ravitch, Professor of Education at New York University, historian of education, author of Reign of Error"Westheimer is practitioner, critic and visionary. This book is a wake-up call to rethink the real purpose of education." Pasi Sahlberg, author of Finnish Lessons 2.0: What Can the World Learn from Educational Change in Finland?"In this refreshingly accessible book, Westheimer explains the importance of helping students to think critically and question tradition." Alfie Kohn, author of Feel-Bad Education and The Myth of the Spoiled Child"In this highly readable, persuasive book, Joel Westheimer reminds us that, in our zeal for higher test scores, we seem to have forgotten the highest aim of education to produce better people, more thoughtful citizens." --Nel Noddings, Lee Jacks Professor of Education Emerita, Stanford University

About the Author Joel Westheimer is professor and university research chair in democracy and education at the University of Ottawa and education columnist for CBC Radio. He is the editor of Pledging Allegiance: The Politics of Patriotism in America's Schools.

Heenan This book is an excellent choice for a personal or staff-wide professional development series. It's short (enough), it's not just for social studies teachers (Westhiemer makes this point early on), and it speaks to the myriad reasons for why we got into teaching in the first place. (Hint: it isn't because we want to raise test scores). It's serves as an exemplar of how to refresh your teaching staff and school community after years of getting beat over the head with PD that is "driven" at us instead of with and by us.When I first read the WKoC article by Westheimer and Kahn going on 9 years ago, it changed my teaching practice for the better. My students became more engaged, and I felt like it helped me to redefined my purpose, my framing for getting up in front of these young people each day. The book is a refresher too, and Westheimer elucidates on the different ways schools and after school programs can and are investing their energies in Civic Education and the reasons why we should continue to re-prioritize (and reclaim) American education in this manner. Westheimer draws on not only Freire and Dewey, but contemporaries such as Lisa Delpit, Brian Shultz, and Bob Peterson, to really ground this reading in the historical and current contexts for Civic Engagement in schools.

In an era of obsession with high stakes mandatory standardized testing public discourse becomes focused on increasingly narrowly defined learning outcomes. Westheimer reminds us that we need to have the conversation not just about whether something is learned, but also about what is worth learning. This book is an accessible, carefully reasoned, examination of the limits of the audit culture currently suffusing our schools. More importantly, for me at least, it provides a vision of the alternative--a more pluralistic, democratic, and ambitious conception of education in the 21st century. Westheimer's vision is not mere fantasy, but is illustrated with real examples from practice of what is possible, if we have the will to insist on something better for our children and communities.

Joel Westheimer's WHAT KIND OF CITIZEN encourages us to examine the role of education and influence in our lives By Cyrus Webb The issue of citizenship is a hot-button one for sure. What I thought was so interesting about the way that Joel Westheimer addresses it in his book WHAT KIND OF CITIZEN is that it allows us to realize it's not just about what we say. It's about how we live and what we do. We are able to get slivers of his own personal story and also see the way the school system might not be doing all that it came to help students better understand and appreciate the importance of education, not just getting a certain score. This is the kind of book that will have you reading and contemplating what kind of citizen you want to be versus what kind you are being encouraged to be---and the role of education plays in the answer.

Learning how to write to persuade and argue is an essential writing skill needed to write articles and letters - required throughout the school curriculum. Young writers will be taught to develop their points of view, in order to convince their target audience to believe in something - whether it is an exotic holiday destination or signing a petition. What s more, they will be taught how to make a point and provide evidence and comments to support their argument. They will learn to write a balanced argument, build up a counter argument and knock it down. They will be shown how to use literary techniques in their writing. More than this, the book contains a lively collection of writings for older children and teenagers: discursive topics on topical issues, poems and a play script, inspired by the work of children, their purpose, to provide starting points to help your child write. Learning Persuasive Writing and Argument is ideal for home study and will reinforce the work done in school. It is a companion to the other books in our series, Creative Story Writing and Information Writing. By working methodically through this book the student will grow in confidence and learn to enjoy writing.

Persuasive Writing & Argument: Teach Your Child To Write Good English (Teach Your Child Good English), by Sally Jones, Amanda Jones

About the Author Guinea Pig Education is a family run publishing company based in Surrey. The authors are Sally and Amanda Jones, a mother and daughter team. Sally is a qualified teacher with over thirty years experience of teaching in the classroom and as a private tutor. She runs a successful private tuition business in Surrey, teaching children from 5-17 years. Sally began writing her own educational material to teach English, as a direct result of tutoring children on a one to one basis. She became aware that there was a gap in the retail market of teaching resources that would cater for the specific needs of her pupils. This need gave birth to her creative writing books, which provide reluctant writers with starting points to get them writing. More than this, she realised there was a need for English activities that stretched more able children, for those with special educational needs or where English is a foreign language. Therefore, the books have been written with children in mind, trialled by them in their classes and have produced rapid results. Sally s pupils, including her own children, have been taught by Guinea Pig materials and have achieved academic excellence. Amanda graduated from Surrey University in English language and linguistics and went on to complete an MA in English and Sociology. Her love of writing began in her teens when she submitted projects to win the title of Young Environmentalist of The Year on three occasions. Amanda assists Sally with the private tuition and spends many hours compiling and editing the rough draughts of the books into a series of popular educational books. She established Guinea Pig Education in 2008 and is currently working on a number of new titles.

It helped me out a lot in passing it the second time around. Doing all 800 questions in this book helped to learn how to answer these questions and really look for exactly what they are asking for. I would say the questions in this book are pretty similar to the questions on the real exam.

I have not yet taken the test, but overall seems like a great book and MUCH more affordable and less daunting than TherapyEd.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. very thorough By Mama Lenor One of my kids is in the armed forces, one just left and another is considering joining. They wanted to get a study guide so to be better prepared to take the asvab test. There a plenty of practice questions to see if you are absorbing the material and they have detailed answers that break things down for if you didn't understand it. Its really detailed and easy to understand. I know theres a kindle version but we got the paperback copy so it can be taken anywhere and so you can take notes and write in it. It was easily organized so you can flip through to what areas you want to study or practice a certain section. Shes got a pretty good idea of what to expect on the actual exam now and I think if she does decide to go ahead and take the test, she will be well prepped. I'm glad we got this study guide and I'd recommend it to others wanting a head start. we did receive this study guide for free in exchange for our unbiased review.

This is the way to prepare for the ASVAB By Josephine (Josie) Grounds [[VIDEOID:cca1a98caee45e95006cf22b825b362d]] When I enlisted I wish this book had been around. But my nephew wanted to follow in the family footsteps, so I got him this so that he has a greater chance of being where he wants to (Fingers crossed, MI).There is a lot of material in this book that, 1, covers just about anything you would get on the test and 2. things to stump your family with. I didn't know half of this. At first when I opened this book, I was overwhelmed, because I skimmed everything. Then I started looking at one section at a time, slowly, and it all came together. You could use this book to help with parts of the SAT as well. So if you have a high school junior about to take his/her PSAT/SAT/ASBVAB, or any of the above, grab this book. There are practice questions that are similar to those on the test, some harder, some easier, but they get you used to testing in a small amount of time on a lot of questions. Remember to set a timer, because you will have a big man reminding you to finish up later. As long as you have a high school reading level, you shouldn't have too many problems with this book. There may be times you have to look up a word, but you should do just fine. This book is set up into sections that eases you into the learning process. You don't have to jump all over. It flows smoothly and naturally.* I received this product for a discounted free for my honest/unbiased review, everything stated is based on my own experience*

The School Speech Language Pathologist is an Administrator’s Guide to understanding the role of the SLP in schools along with strategies to aid staffing, workload management and student success. The role of the Speech Language Pathologist in the schools is diverse and crosses both medical and educational disciplines. SLPs are developmental experts and have to know how to address the needs of clients from birth to adulthood. Speech and language development is extremely complicated, sequential and neurologically based. For most children speech and language skills are acquired in a typical naturalistic manner and fall within an expected range of development. For those students who demonstrate developmental language disabilities, moderate/severe language disabilities or learning disabilities, school can be especially challenging, confusing, frustrating and just plain difficult. Speech and language skills are also life skills. Without strong language abilities, students will struggle to succeed in college and in the work place. Poor language abilities and decreased understanding can even effect personal relationships. Over the past 30 years the role of the Speech Language Pathologist in the schools has evolved. Growing special needs populations, changing curriculums and needed legislation has created larger caseloads and workloads for Speech Language Pathologists without significant changes in staffing levels. The School Speech Language Pathologist was written to help demystify the role of the Speech Language Pathologist in the school setting and to foster more productive Speech and Language services in schools.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. A Great Resource!! By A. West This is an excellent resource to give to administrators if you are a Speech Pathologist working in the schools. It outlines the roles, duties, and responsibilities of working in the school setting. Often, teachers and administrators don't understand the vast scope that SLPs cover and how much time/work goes into weekly tasks. If you are a school administrator I HIGHLY recommend you read this short book! If you are an SLP, get a copy for your administrators! I really love how she explained caseload (number of clients) vs. workload (this is an approach that considers all duties and severity of cases) difference. There are also suggestions on workload management and a breakdown of the time it takes for individual tasks (evaluations, therapy, consults, screenings, extra duties, ect...). At the end she has a suggested 20 questions to ask your school SLP. This gives administrators and idea of how to make sure their SLP(s) has a manageable caseload for maximum students success. Just eleven years after slavery ended, George Pounds traded the tobacco _fields of Danville, Virginia, for the coal mines of Smithfield and Herminie, Pennsylvania. George, a white-skinned mulatto born in 1876 to a sharecropper on a tobacco farm, vowed to have a better life than his parents. Cora Hatchet, a dark-skinned Negro born in 1880 to slaves, vowed to support her siblings, even if it meant a life of drudgery as a domestic servant. _ e two fell in love and married, and their life's journey as an interracial couple, which began in the 19th century, forms the basis for this historic novel based on family history.

Eleven Pounds shares the couple's courage in moving forward even as they were touched by tragedy. George and Cora taught their children and generations following that they could compete with anybody anywhere if they maintained a strong work ethic, commitment to faith and family, and a belief that the color of a man's skin cannot destroy his potential.

Their story also stresses the importance of choosing marriage partners based on character, being brave in the face of adversity, helping others, and trusting in God when darkness descends.

Jewel Thomas drew on oral history from family members, correspondence, newspaper clippings, photographs, census records, and birth, marriage and death certificates in crafting this unforgettable story of one family's determination to not only survive but thrive.

Jewel Thomas began research for this book in 2003, meeting weekly with her source, Lillian Robinson (Aunt Jack), to learn more about the family's history. Jewel, born and raised in Herminie, Pennsylvania, has a master's degree in public policy and management from Carnegie-Mellon University. She believes that every family has a story that is worth telling.

By Briana Eleven Pounds was a beautifully written and inspiring account of a family overcoming a tremendous number of hardships in the early 1900's from discrimination to family tragedies. Jewel is very descriptive of the situations that this family has gone through, which makes it easy to empathize and bond with them. There is never a dull moment with the Pounds family, which makes this an especially enjoyable read. You will not regret buying this book, it is truly a wonderful read and contains lessons and laughs for every generation. It is sure to spark your interest in researching your own family history. This true story shows that you never know what you may come across.

McGill Being interested in the subject of genealogy, I purchased the book with great anticipation. The author has created an interesting and effective weaving of historical fact and plausible fiction. Both the style and subject matter make the book suitable for a wide audience. "Eleven Pounds: It Came to Pass" is an easy read: you won't need an unabridged volume of the Oxford English Dictionary as your tableside reading companion. The story also moves quickly as it gives details of the lives of the family members who constitute the book's eponymous title. A chief attribute of the book is that it has an almost universal appeal. Nearly all ethnic groups and cultures can relate to the themes of adaptibility, identity, acceptance, faith, hard work and perseverance that course through its pages. If the book manages to stir in its readers the same sentiment that stirred in me: a profound sense of appreciation for the lives and sacrifices of family members who came before, then it can be considered an important read that serves a marvelous purpose.

Eleven Pounds It Came to Pass, is one of the best books I have read this year. Now let me tell you why. Reading for me has always been a way to travel to places and experience different times. For the last two weeks I have traveled to the deep South at the end of Slavery to our present time. I have laughed, cried and gasped at the horrible conditions that the author's loved ones experienced.Through all of this, the moral to the story and overshadowing truth is VICTORY! This book will remind you as it did me of what Real Men do for their family! George, the Patriarch of the family set the tone for work ethics, education and faith. Cora, the Matriarch lead the charge in what a home should look and feel like. A mother who took care of her man, children and taught her family to help others, sharing the little she had to delivering babies always showing love. Please get yourself a copy of this well written riveting story of true survival.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. So good, it kept me up at night! By Unabridged Chick I was gripped by this novel from the first page. Despite the scandalous plot, it's a deeply melancholy novel -- so much loss, so much sacrifice -- and I loved that Purcell focused on the darkly pragmatic nature of royal mistresses. The point of view switches between Henrietta and Caroline, allowing the rich, complicated relationship between these two women to come into full view. I liked and felt for both of them, two women battling the unfair power wielded by the men in their lives. The characters are all vibrant and unforgettable. In some ways, Henrietta could be seen as a passive puppet and yet, Purcell articulates such tender affection for her, I felt the same way. George I, Caroline's father-in-law, is a manipulative, villainous man I loathed -- fun, since in her Author's Note, Purcell comments that she wrote him from the view of George II and Caroline and plans to feature him in a future novel -- one I will undoubtedly get because I cannot wait to see how she makes me care for him!The world of the Hanover court is also portrayed with evocative detail, small dashes of description that linger in my mind -- the mushrooms growing from the walls in the dank rooms of one palace, the glittering splendor of another -- as well as other tidbits about life in this time.Moms will appreciate this endorsement for what it means, but this book was so good, I read it in bed (under my pillow, to keep from waking the baby!).With this read, Purcell can count me a devoted fangirl. She does historical fiction beautifully, taking people and places foreign and unfamiliar, and rendering them warm, real, and approachable.

By Raven Alexander Laura Purcell has joined the ranks of my favorite authors. She provided two memorable women whose lives collide in a rocky quasi partnership.Purcell illustrates how challenging the era was towards women especially when trapped within the bonds of a horrid marriage. The disparity between Caroline and Henrietta is obvious however, their similarities are evident through love, power, and their unfaltering love of their children.Quite a page turner and you will find yourself at odds with each woman, each tugging at pulling at you. You feel tremendous empathy for these two women as they are pawns of the court, mere instruments of power. You vacillate from the Queen's pains to the uncomfortable predicament of mistress, a true emotional rollercoaster ride. George possesses zero backbone, simply a weakling, he disguises his weakness by his temper tantrums and intimidating demeanor. Caroline sacrifices and the reader understands her reason for agreeing to the arrangement as opposing along with her choice in involving Henrietta. Henrietta really grabs your heart, you enter the story rooting for her, you feel for the choices she makes but her hand forced she has no other options in order to survive, to gain her independence, she's a casualty of the times and sadly by her overall predicament.A wonderful story, well written. A story of what lengths women will do for the love of their children when dealt a challenging and unfair hand. I look forward to more from Laura Purcell, one talented authoress.

By #redhead.with.book Sometimes you just want to sit down with a really, really good book. I enjoy historical fiction and was thoroughly engrossed in Mistress of the Court. The book was well-written, the characters fully developed and the storyline easy to follow.Henrietta is a noblewoman with no income or future, married to a drunken, abusive soldier. She is desperate to improve her life for both herself and her son and sells everything she has, including her hair to enable her to travel to the Hanoverian Court in Germany where, with time, she can earn enough for her freedom. Soon she moves up from poor relation to the mistress of George, the future King. She longs for security and love but the intrigues, false friends, backstabbing and powerplays create turmoil for Henrietta, who also fears the return of her physically and emotionally abusive husband. The plot is written from the viewpoint of both Henrietta and Princess Caroline. You are able sympathize with both women, each with her own internal struggle and ambition. Their relationship is symbiotic yet simultaneously destructive. Who will survive?

Imagine, if you can, a roomful of teenage boys, all familiar with the inside of a courtroom; many are gang members, many are from the roughest home environments you might conjure up from having seen some pretty horrible movies. Many of those kids have experienced years of academic failure. Their guards are up so that no teacher, no test will be allowed to expose their shortcomings. They are accustomed to failing and to public embarrassment—both elements of their dislike of school. And then comes Friday: Poem Day—a tradition that has become a centerpiece for kids who are trying to find ways to express their feelings about the harshness and confusion of their lives. These teenagers, given time with Mary Sklar and her special brand of imparting to them a belief in themselves and encouraging them to dare anything to succeed, found themselves in their rooms late into the evening on Thursday memorizing poems by such authors as Maya Angelou and John Donne. They then recite these poems to a classful of other teenage boys—not a wisecrack or snort is heard—and the prize they receive is a miniature Snickers bar. After a student successfully recites a poem, he comes to the front of the classroom and drops rolls of pennies into a donation bucket—each year a different charity is selected related to education. He earns the pennies by choosing one of the longer poems on the list of options. Even though the pennies come from a fund established by the teacher, the boy feels so proud to be able, by his own effort, to help kids who are less fortunate than he with a charitable contribution. His name is added to the list of humanitarians on the classroom door. Other students congratulate him, often accompanied by applause. The most common statement heard from students as they drop their pennies into the bucket is “Oh Miss, I wish my mother could see me. She’d be so proud.” Apathy, not common in room 101, is totally absent on Friday. How Do We Reach Those Kids is the story of a remarkable teacher and her amazing journey in a juvenile detention center. Her techniques and experiences will resonate with teachers, parents, grandparents, and anyone who cares about the future of our children and education in this country. Every kid needs a Mary Sklar in his or her corner.

How Do We Reach Those Kids: Creating Places of Belonging Where Everyone Learns and Thrives, by Mary Duerksen Sklar

About the Author Mary Duerksen Sklar has lived on two continents and has taught and worked with educators and students on three. Having absorbed a broad range of teaching approaches and experiences she returned to the US over a decade ago eager for a challenge. She found it at a juvenile detention facility near Denver, Colorado. Teaching social studies to teenagers ordered by the court to live and attend school in the facility put her theories to their most demanding tests. The impact of her reaching techniques has resulted in countless students showing greater interest in learning and has reduced the numbers of young people who are determined to disrupt classrooms and interrupt or end their own education. Her unique strengths and talents are influenced by her Midwestern upbringing. Her father was dean of the School of Fine Arts at Wichita State University, and her mother opened their home to frequent guests that included educators, musicians, and cultural leaders. Conversation was rich and stimulating. Her solid grounding in traditional values gives her the confidence and resourcefulness to work creatively with a juvenile prison population. The three Rs in Mary Sklar’s classroom—relationship, relevance, and respect—work wonders with kids whose lives are fraught with loss, chaos, and failure.

As you will read some of the stories of success of some of her students it will bring some tears to see that there is hope for some of them.DH

It is obvious from the beginning the genuine care and concern she has for each student. Mary Sklar has unveiled the harsh reality of these young adults daily lives and illuminates the secret to breaking down their walls that others have long since given up on. She opens the door and welcomes you into classroom 101 and shares numerous ways to teach, connect, encourage, build up, instill worth and value as well as make them feel respected and important. Mary's classroom is relevant to their outside lives. The key is respect. The goal is relationship and engagement. Her warmth for every student and her passion for causing them to learn flows through these pages with practical tools and solutions to equip fractured lives with every opportunity to experience significance and success. Mary instills fundamentals of resilience, focus, and making wise choices in order for them to respond differently and act responsibility. No kid wants to fail, be criticized or embarrassed and therefore she structures her class and her responses so this will not be the outcome. This book is truly inspiring and educationally brilliant as you learn from the master how to illuminate what is possible in getting her students to want more out of life. They know that "Miss" as they so respectfully call her believes in them. Mary has a unique way of taking roll call that keeps them engaged from the beginning of class and then continues to provide numerous means for opportunities to talk about what they need to share. Mary's classroom has touched lives and permanently influenced souls. This book will produce restless and thoughtful readers.

I found the grandfather to be absolutely priceless. The way that he brought the entire family together really warmed my heart. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to imagine myself as part of this group. But St. Claire didn’t stop there. Suspense and intrigue ruled as events unfold. She paints a picture that had me on the edge of my seat, creating intensity through actions and reactions. Her vivid descriptions brought Boston to life as vividly as they did a Florida beach. This novella sets readers up well to dive into Gabe’s new venture in the first full length novel in the series, while also leaving some mystery and suspense to be unfolded at a later date. It gives readers who are new to St Claire’s work a fantastic starting point, while also tying this new series in with characters that we’ve already come to know and love. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

I love romantic suspense and this book had it all. But what really made the book extra special for me was the grandfather, Nino. I absolutely LOVED him. I also loved how the author made him an important character in the book and in Gabe's life. So often our elders are overlooked and may feel that they are not valuable human beings anymore. The fact that Gabe took him to Florida with him and gave him meaningful tasks to do in the company made me love Gabe that much more. Can't wait for the next book.

I will not be purchasing the "Undercover" set in this series. Life is full of dirty words....I would rather not have them in my entertainment that I pay for by choice. I deleted this without finishing it. Really sad!
