We're also big fans of brain training exercises to help with attention/focus issues and some mild dysgraphia. This book has been great for meeting all those areas!These worksheets are tough! My 10th grade son has to really put on his thinking cap to complete the activities that require a little bit of math, a lot of logic/critical thinking, and a little art. At the same time, he's super-focused (building attention skills) and gets sly practice with the type of writing that improves his dysgraphia. I can't tell you how power-packed each page is with brain training, while being game-like at the same time.On the surface, some of the worksheets seem like they really are far below the level of a middle or high school. But, the intricacy of each activity is far more in depth than what you see on the surface. That's part of the beauty. The more you discern the worksheet, the more thinking there is to do.Love these!

My daughter gets bored with math sheets! I think there is enough games and art in this book to keep her engaged and her mind open! We have struggled with higher math this year, I am planning to "reset" us next year, it is my hope that if we can do Dyslexia games B and C the math concepts will come a little easier.

He enjoys doing one page per day with some adults help, but the method and pattern of the activities allows him to complete much of this on his own. Socrates, written by Voltaire, the famous French philosopher in the mid 18th century, is a play in three acts that concerns itself with Socrates and the events just before his death during his trial. It is heavy with satire specifically at government authority and organized religion. The main characters besides the titular role is that of the priest Anitus, his entourage, Socrates' wife Xantippe, several judges, and some children Socrates has adopted as his own. Like more historical accounts by Herodotus, Plato, and Xenophon, the playwright shows Socrates as a moral individual charged with baseless accusations by a conspiracy of corrupt Athenians or Athenian officials although Voltaire implies that the wrongdoers are a select few. Unlike the historical account, Socrates deals with several judges, whereas his real life counterpart receives his punishment of death by hemlock by a jury of 500 Athenians. The presence or mention of Socrates' most well-known students such as Plato, Antisthenes, Zeno of Citium, and others are replaced by unnamed disciples, delivering only a few token lines at the end of the play. Socrates is also portrayed as a monotheist and a victim of religious persecution, an interpretation that is not generally shared by modern scholars and historians.

It's poorly organized and written and is riddled with formatting and spelling errors. It appears as if the authors simply copied and pasted random materials from the internet and labeled the result a study guide. The company selling the guide also falsely advertises on its website the number and depth of practice questions. The guide in fact includes only five practice questions, which are only remotely related to the AEPA exam, and there is no explanation (as is promised on the website) about why the correct answers are correct. In essence, I found this product to be completely useless as a preparation tool for the AEPA professional knowledge exam. It doesn't deserve even a single star, but that's the lowest rating I'm able to assign.

Used this same book for the tech exam and aced it. It goes straight to the point. Still, I have heftier books as well to accompany this one read through with more time and continue learning. This won't teach the "why" (at least not in depth--it only provides the pool of Q&A and a short description of "why" and where to go to for a longer explanation)

It has the full question pool and great explanations for all the questions. It includes pictures and diagrams to help explain complicated concepts. This was my only study tool and I passed the test the first time. I am 14 and thought it clearly explained everything. There was one mistake in the book so for anyone buying it the correct answer for question G9B02 is "B". The explanation for the question is correct just the letter was wrong! great book and would recommend to anyone having trouble with the concepts

Included are flow charts for Reading, Reading Fluency, Mathematics, Oral Communication, and Written Communication. The charts help a parent quickly to assess a child's academic strength or competence in each area, as well as to identify areas in which the child needs more skill development or practice. However, the Guide goes beyond helping a parent to assess a child's current abilities. There are pages of correlated strategies to help a child learn skills in each of the areas listed above. (There are actually 6 strategy sets, as Mathematics is divided into Math Reasoning and Math Computation.) This would have been very helpful for me when we were raising our children, as I homeschooled for 22 years. However, I do have grandchildren now whose parents will benefit from this material!

Helpful exams, tips and strategies with no shenanigans By whistler If it isn't obvious from the title, this book contains three practice exams for the New PSAT format that's being implemented in the fall of 2015. There's a lot of anxiety due to the new format but having purchased this a few months ago and comparing it to other prep books out there, this is definitely one of the better, if not best ones. I wasn't sure what to expect given that Ivy Global is a new entrant in the educational preparation arena but compared to the others, this book is excellent.First, it gives clear and detailed explanations as to the changes and format for the upcoming PSAT.Second, it provides helpful tips and strategies for taking the exam as well as preparing for the exam. The strategies, instructions and exams are laid out in a simple, eye-pleasing manner without looking or feeling dumbed down or overly complicated like other prep books (if you've tried other companies, you know what I mean). It looks and feels professional without being intimidating and the tests seem right on point compared to the others out there.Finally, there are actually 3 tests within the book, just as it states and you would expect. Why is this important? Because there are other prep books out there for which you only get access to 1 and then need to jump through a number of hoops online in order to access the others. Aside from that being annoying, it's misleading and is extremely invasive of your privacy (why would a publisher need to know a kid's high school, phone number, graduation date, etc. except for their own marketing and advertising purposes?). With Ivy Global's book, you get 3 exams just as it states. No shenanigans.In summary, I would highly recommend this book.

Only the College Board releases are ACTUAL tests.

This is the best test preparation book I have ever used. My students feel comfortable with the instructions, tips, and general format of the information. I ended up only using this book because it was the only one I needed, it gave such clear step by step lessons on all subjects, but especially the math which is what I needed.
