About the Author Arati Hoffmeier was born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal. She is the first Nepali female in the United States Marine Corps to serve in Operation Enduring Freedom. She holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and Master of Science in Organizational Leadership. She enjoys traveling, target shooting and yoga, but writing children’s book became her most recent passion following the birth of her beautiful girls. Now that she is a mom, just like every immigrant she wants to introduce her children to her native language, culture and values that she grew up with.
