Worth the effort By Amazon Customer This book is a carefully collected list of Biblical, Q'uranic, and historical references highlighting and exposing the irrationality and cruelty of the world's great religions. I commend Mr. Brucker for his efforts. We need more works like this systematic deconstruction of religion's unreasonable claims as the foundation of all morality and goodness. However, the book could use a good editor. There are enough grammatical errors, misspellings, and word usage problems that they become distracting. The word "evidence" for example, should never be used with the plural 's', to make "evidences". Sometimes the contraction "they're" is used instead of "their". There are numerous little awkward grammar issues. There are a few little factual issues also. The Charlie Hebdo attacks occurred on January 7, 2015, for example, not in 2014 as the author states. One other problem is the inclusion of long quotations from the Bible and Q'uran. The quotations are relevant to the author's discussion, but in places they are longer than the discussion itself. In many places I think the quotations could have been shorter, and the discussion more succinct. A good editor could help with this also.Regardless, I think the book is worth the money and effort it takes to read it. I am giving it three stars, hoping for another edition with a bit more polish.

By Matthew O'Neil, author Brucker offers another excellent book on the issue of religion being integrated into the world. With dozens of examples of prejudice against minorities, psychological harm to people simply for being who they are, and violence that has erupted throughout history, religion is something that should be taken with the smallest grains of salt.Anti-theism has been touted as the atheist equivalent to conservative Christianity and Islam, but Brucker demonstrates that nothing could be further from the truth. A quick read, but one that still engages and enlightens, this is the book to read for those curious about the anti-theist position. They may be surprised to discover how much it resembles their own.

I was very disappointed to pay the Amazon price for this new book and have it so poorly written. It was almost impossible to read. Just a few examples: the author doesn't know the difference between "bare" and "bear" or between "they're" and "there"--and these are impossible to get out of sixth grade and *not* know. Additionally, he overuses commas and dashes, and doesn't know how to use colons and semi-colons. He clearly turned his first draft in to the publisher, and they went ahead and printed it without any editing. I'm not a professional editor, just somebody who reads and writes well. If I had known this about the book before purchasing it, I would have given it a pass. I suggest that everyone do the same, until the mistakes are corrected. Supposedly this author is a blogger and has written at least one other book. If nobody reads his blog, because of this type of problem, I can certainly understand.
